Becton Dickinson (NYSE:BDX) reported on Thursday first quarter earnings that beat analysts' forecasts and revenue that topped expectations.

Becton Dickinson announced earnings per share of $2.65 on revenue of $4.23B. Analysts polled by anticipated EPS of $2.64 on revenue of $4.18B. That with comparison to EPS of $2.7 on revenue of $4.16B in the same period a year before. Becton Dickinson had reported EPS of $3.31 on revenue of $4.58B in the previous quarter. Analysts are expecting EPS of $2.99 and revenue of $4.4B in the upcoming quarter.
