Yamana Gold Earnings Beat, Revenue Misses In Q1

Yamana Gold (NYSE:AUY) reported on Thursday first quarter earnings that beat analysts' forecasts and revenue that fell short of expectations.

Yamana Gold announced earnings per share of $0.05 on revenue of $356.5M. Analysts polled by anticipated EPS of $0.03 on revenue of $373M. That with comparison to EPS of $0.02 on revenue of $407.1M in the same period a year before. Yamana Gold had reported EPS of $0.03 on revenue of $383.8M in the previous quarter. Analysts are expecting EPS of $0.03 and revenue of $366.3M (NYSE:MMM) in the upcoming quarter.

Yamana Gold shares are down 2% from the beginning of the year , still down 2.83% from its 52 week high of $4.95 set on April 23. They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is down 9.4% year to date.

Yamana Gold shares gained 1.46% in pre-market trade following the report.

Yamana Gold's report follows an earnings missed by Air Products on April 23, who reported EPS of $2.04 on revenue of $2.22B, compared to forecasts EPS of $2.08 on revenue of $2.16B.

Sherwin-Williams had beat expectations on Wednesday with first quarter EPS of $4.08 on revenue of $4.15B, compared to forecast for EPS of $3.92 on revenue of $4.13B.
