Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Diversified Holdings, Plantations and Construction&Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.35% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Meanwhile, Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 14.12% or 86.60 points to end at 700.00 and Carson Cumberbatch PLC (CM:CARS) was up 12.80% or 21.50 points to 189.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which fell 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was down 10.86% or 3.90 points to 32.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 103 to 64 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) fell to 5-year lows; falling 12.50% or 0.100 to 0.700.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.54% or 0.37 to $67.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.36% or 0.28 to hit $77.44 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 3.00 to trade at $1304.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.31% to 210.830, while USD/LKR rose 0.16% to 158.340.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.90.
