Spotify jumped to an 18-month high after inking a multi-year deal to acquire the exclusive rights to world-famous podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience.'
Spotify Technology (NYSE:SPOT) was up 8%, its highest since Oct. 2018.
The podcast will be exclusive to Spotify and make its debut on the audio streaming platform on Sept. 1.
Last year, Rogan said his show had reached about 190 million downloads a month.
"The talk series has long been the most-searched-for podcast on Spotify and is the leading show on practically every other podcasting platform. And, like all podcasts and vodcasts on Spotify, it will remain free and accessible to all Spotify users," Spotify said in a statement.
