Poland stocks higher at close of trade; WIG30 up 2.04%

Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil&Gas and Banking sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 2.04%.

The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 4.73% or 0.37 points to trade at 8.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Dino Polska SA (WA:DNP) added 3.72% or 3.35 points to end at 93.35 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 3.39% or 0.060 points to 1.830 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 3.46% or 0.92 points to trade at 25.68 at the close. PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) declined 1.72% or 0.70 points to end at 40.00 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) was down 0.86% or 1.70 points to 196.40.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 235 to 216 and 181 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.35% or 0.25 to $72.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.48% or 0.39 to hit $81.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1232.20 a troy ounce.

EUR/PLN was down 0.18% to 4.2848, while USD/PLN fell 0.29% to 3.6965.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.66.
