Philippines stocks higher at close of trade; PSEi Composite up 2.39%

Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking&Financials, Holding Firms and Property sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 2.39%.

The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which rose 5.99% or 3.550 points to trade at 62.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) added 4.88% or 0.880 points to end at 18.900 and Alliance Global Group Inc (PS:AGI) was up 4.29% or 0.560 points to 13.600 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC), which fell 0.93% or 0.050 points to trade at 5.300 at the close. Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 7.200 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 21.550.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 117 to 78 and 49 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.09% or 1.20 to $1323.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $71.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $77.48 a barrel.

CNY/PHP was up 1.16% to 8.2414, while USD/PHP rose 0.41% to 52.203.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 92.50.
