The pound rose on Friday after European Council President Donald Tusk said that U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has promised to deliver a Brexit solution "that works for all". The news comes after unconfirmed reports suggesting that Johnson had dropped his insistence that Northern Ireland remain in the U.K. customs area after Brexit.
• Tusk also said however that so far the U.K. has not come forward with a realistic proposal.
• If there is no proposal released today, than Tusk will announce that there is no more chance of a deal at next week’s summit.
• GBP/USD gained 0.3% to 1.2482 as of 4:56 AM ET (8:56 GMT).
• EUR/GBP fell 0.3% to 0.8814.
