NewsBreak: Sterling Falls as Court Rules Parliament Suspension Legal

The pound tumbled in early morning trading Friday after the high court in London ruled that U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s move to suspend parliament was legal. The ruling will be appealed to the supreme court, which has already agreed to hear appeals on Sept. 17.

  • GBP/USD fell 0.3% to 1.2297 as of 5:27 AM ET (9:27 GMT).

  • EUR/GBP rose 0.3% to 0.8969.
    • The U.K. 10-Year yield fell 0.033 to 0.566%.
