NewsBreak: States Launch Antitrust Probe Into Facebook

- State attorneys from New York and elsewhere said they are launching an antitrust investigation into Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) Friday. It’s the latest sign of a regulatory pushback against Internet giants, and is expected to be followed by the confirmation of a similar investigation into Google owner Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL).

“We will use every investigative tool at our disposal to determine whether Facebook’s actions may have endangered consumer data, reduced the quality of consumers’ choices, or increased the price of advertising,” New York Attorney-General Letitia James said in a statement.

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) shares indicated down 0.3% in premarket trading.
