McDonald’s Earnings, Revenue Beat in Q1

McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) reported first quarter earnings that Beat analysts' expectations on Tuesday and revenue that topped forecasts.

The firm reported earnings per share of $1.78 on revenue of $4.96B. Analysts polled by expected EPS of $1.76 on revenue of $4.94B. That compared to EPS of $1.79 on revenue of $5.14B in the same period a year earlier. The company had reported EPS of $1.97 on revenue of $5.16B in the previous quarter.

McDonald’s shares gained 2.22% to trade at $201.50 in pre-market trade following the report.

On Thursday, Amazon.com reported first quarter EPS of $7.09 on revenue of $59.7B, compared to forecasts of EPS of $4.7 on revenue of $59.68B.
