Leggett&Platt Earnings Beat, Revenue Misses In Q1

Leggett&Platt reported on Monday first quarter earnings that beat analysts' forecasts and revenue that fell short of expectations.

Leggett&Platt announced earnings per share of $0.41 on revenue of $1.05B. Analysts polled by anticipated EPS of $0.34 on revenue of $1.09B. That with comparison to EPS of $0.49 on revenue of $1.16B in the same period a year before. Leggett&Platt had reported EPS of $0.68 on revenue of $1.14B in the previous quarter. Analysts are expecting EPS of $0.06 and revenue of $836.12M in the upcoming quarter.

Leggett&Platt shares are down 33% from the beginning of the year , still down 38.61% from its 52 week high of $55.42 set on November 8, 2019. They are under-performing the S&P 500 which is down 12.34% year to date.

Leggett&Platt shares gained 1.41% in after-hours trade following the report.
