Investing.com - Shares of Juventus Football Club jumped on Wednesday as rumors continued to fly that soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo would leave Real Madrid to join the Italian team.
According to several media reports, Ronaldo has accepted the offer and Juventus will pay a €100 million ($116.9 million) release clause.
Juventus are also offering a four-year contract worth €120 million ($140.3 million) to pick up the Portuguese player who has won a record-tying five Ballon D’Or awards and four European Golden Shoes, according to a report by Portuguese sports newspaper O Jogo.
Ronaldo had already hinted at the move after the Champions League final and reports pointed to his disappointment with Florentino Perez, president of his current club Real Madrid, over the failure to reach a new contract this year.
At 5:14AM GMT (9:14GMT), Milan listed shares of Juventus (MI:JUVE) rose 6.03% to 0.7820 euros.
