Italy stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.63%

Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Travel&Leisure and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Italy 40 declined 0.63% to hit a new 52-week low.

The best performers of the session on the Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo SpA (MI:SFER), which rose 7.44% or 1.45 points to trade at 20.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 2.98% or 0.400 points to end at 13.842 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) was up 1.57% or 0.071 points to 4.582 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII), which fell 3.65% or 0.128 points to trade at 3.380 at the close. Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) declined 3.12% or 0.054 points to end at 1.669 and Banca Generali (MI:BGN) was down 2.47% or 0.47 points to 18.53.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 215 to 139 and 21 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.65% or 0.128 to 3.380. Shares in Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) fell to all time lows; down 3.12% or 0.054 to 1.669. Shares in Banca Generali (MI:BGN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.47% or 0.47 to 18.53.

Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $69.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.15% or 0.12 to hit $79.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1224.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1469, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8844.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 95.75.
