Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 2.43%

Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Household and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 2.43% to hit a new 52-week low.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 7.94% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.068 at the close. Meanwhile, Reds (AT:CAMr) added 3.14% or 0.025 points to end at 0.820 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was up 2.65% or 0.016 points to 0.619 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which fell 7.62% or 0.093 points to trade at 1.127 at the close. Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) declined 6.14% or 1.40 points to end at 21.40 and Karatzi (AT:KRTr) was down 5.97% or 0.400 points to 6.300.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 81 to 24 and 12 ended unchanged.

Shares in Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) fell to 5-year lows; falling 7.62% or 0.093 to 1.127.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.24% or 2.90 to $1191.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.94% or 0.70 to hit $74.99 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.90 to trade at $84.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1472, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8762.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 95.54.
