Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.02%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Oil&Gas and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.02%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 4.85% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.728 at the close. Meanwhile, Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 4.29% or 0.600 points to end at 14.700 and Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) was up 4.21% or 0.60 points to 14.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which fell 4.89% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.140 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 3.18% or 0.011 points to end at 0.335 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was down 2.92% or 0.005 points to 0.159.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 55 and 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) rose to all time highs; rising 4.29% or 0.600 to 14.700.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1307.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $67.22 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.62% or 0.45 to trade at $72.68 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1967, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8795.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 92.45.
