Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 1.38%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food, Telecoms and Oil&Gas sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.38%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 6.84% or 0.112 points to trade at 1.750 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 3.91% or 0.110 points to end at 2.920 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was up 3.62% or 0.025 points to 0.715 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Reds (AT:CAMr), which fell 3.91% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.860 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 2.54% or 0.60 points to end at 23.00 and Intercontinental International Real Estate Investment Company SA (AT:ICIr) was down 1.79% or 0.100 points to 5.500.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 79 to 27 and 19 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.15% or 2.00 to $1299.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $64.78 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.33% or 1.00 to trade at $74.29 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1679, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.8742.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 94.09.
