Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Retail and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.34% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 1.16%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.81%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG), which rose 7.64% or 3.185 points to trade at 44.875 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 4.73% or 0.878 points to end at 19.453 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) was up 4.29% or 3.535 points to 85.925 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which fell 2.19% or 3.00 points to trade at 134.00 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) declined 1.55% or 2.375 points to end at 151.250 and BAYER AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was down 1.40% or 0.85 points to 59.71.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which rose 11.94% to 16.970, Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was up 6.02% to settle at 74.850 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 4.91% to close at 320.200.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was down 7.07% to 34.720 in late trade, Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which lost 3.10% to settle at 67.520 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which was down 2.53% to 4.618 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which rose 4.91% to 320.200, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 4.73% to settle at 19.453 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which gained 4.29% to close at 85.925.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 2.40% to 116.750 in late trade, Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which lost 1.56% to settle at 16.082 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 1.44% to 36.400 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 424 to 239 and 77 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.47% to 31.83.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.21% or 3.75 to $1749.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.97% or 0.95 to hit $32.91 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.88% or 0.65 to trade at $35.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.0976, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.8974.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 99.218.
