Fastenal (NASDAQ:FAST) reported second quarter earnings that missed analysts' expectations on Thursday and revenue that fell short of forecasts.

The firm reported earnings per share of $0.36 on revenue of $1.37B. Analysts polled by forecast EPS of $0.37 on revenue of $1.38B. That compared to EPS of $0.74 on revenue of $1.27B in the same period a year earlier. The company had reported EPS of $0.34 on revenue of $1.31B in the previous quarter.
