Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA) reported second quarter earnings that beat analyst's expectations on Tuesday and revenue that topped forecasts.

The firm reported earnings per share of $0.83 on revenue of $1.29B. Analysts polled by expected EPS of $0.58 on revenue of $1.18B. That compared to EPS of $2.22 on revenue of $959.0M in the same period a year earlier. The company had reported EPS of $0.15 on revenue of $749M in the previous quarter.

For the year, Electronic Arts shares are down 9.74%, under-performing the NASDAQ 100 which is up 5.89% year to date.
