India extended an initial 21-day lockdown to May 3 as some states requested the extension.
New Zealand lawmakers, led by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, will take a 20% pay cut for six months in solidarity with New Zealanders facing economic difficulty due to the virus.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the country’s lockdown to May 3 on Tuesday.
The announcement came as some states requested an extension as the initial 21-day lockdown ended on Tuesday.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern led Kiwi lawmakers, including the leader of the opposition and public service chief executives, in a 20% pay cut for six months to support those who have lost jobs or have to rely on wage subsidies due to the virus.
The pay cut will not apply to other members of the public services such as frontline medical staff.
