Chevron (NYSE:CVX) reported third quarter earnings that missed analysts' expectations on Friday and revenue that fell short of forecasts.

The firm reported earnings per share of $1.36 on revenue of $36.12B. Analysts polled by anticipated EPS of $1.49 on revenue of $38.84B. That compared to EPS of $2.39 on revenue of $43.99B in the same period a year earlier. The company had reported EPS of $2.28 on revenue of $38.85B in the previous quarter.

Chevron shares lost 0.98% to trade at $115.00 in pre-market trade following the report.
