Bitcoin Falls 10% In Selloff

Bitcoin was trading at $11,785.9 by 23:21 (03:21 GMT) on the Index on Thursday, down 10.44% on the day. It was the largest one-day percentage loss since June 27.

The move downwards pushed Bitcoin's market cap down to $212.2B, or 64.76% of the total cryptocurrency market cap. At its highest, Bitcoin's market cap was $241.2B.

Bitcoin had traded in a range of $11,776.8 to $12,111.3 in the previous twenty-four hours.

Over the past seven days, Bitcoin has seen a stagnation in value, as it only moved 1.12%. The volume of Bitcoin traded in the twenty-four hours to time of writing was $32.0B or 32.89% of the total volume of all cryptocurrencies. It has traded in a range of $10,810.2510 to $13,134.3623 in the past 7 days.

At its current price, Bitcoin is still down 40.69% from its all-time high of $19,870.62 set on December 17, 2017.

Elsewhere in cryptocurrency trading

Ethereum was last at $284.11 on the Index, down 10.25% on the day.

XRP was trading at $0.35693 on the Index, a loss of 10.52%.

Ethereum's market cap was last at $30.6B or 9.32% of the total cryptocurrency market cap, while XRP's market cap totaled $15.3B or 4.67% of the total cryptocurrency market value.
