Bitcoin Climbs Above 9,514.5 Level, Up 2%

Bitcoin rose above the $9,514.5 threshold on Friday. Bitcoin was trading at 9,514.5 by 19:43 (00:43 GMT) on the Index, up 2.27% on the day. It was the largest one-day percentage gain since January 28.

The move upwards pushed Bitcoin's market cap up to $173.2B, or 64.70% of the total cryptocurrency market cap. At its highest, Bitcoin's market cap was $241.2B.

Bitcoin had traded in a range of $9,487.8 to $9,525.0 in the previous twenty-four hours.

Over the past seven days, Bitcoin has seen a rise in value, as it gained 13.72%. The volume of Bitcoin traded in the twenty-four hours to time of writing was $31.9B or 26.25% of the total volume of all cryptocurrencies. It has traded in a range of $8,277.2422 to $9,568.9824 in the past 7 days.

At its current price, Bitcoin is still down 52.12% from its all-time high of $19,870.62 set on December 17, 2017.

XRP was trading at $0.24339 on the Index, a gain of 3.26%.

Ethereum's market cap was last at $20.2B or 7.57% of the total cryptocurrency market cap, while XRP's market cap totaled $10.6B or 3.98% of the total cryptocurrency market value.
