Bitcoin Climbs Above 8,021.5 Level, Up 6%

Bitcoin rose above the $8,021.5 threshold on Tuesday. Bitcoin was trading at 8,021.5 by 13:29 (18:29 GMT) on the Index, up 5.70% on the day. It was the largest one-day percentage gain since December 18, 2019.

The move upwards pushed Bitcoin's market cap up to $145.0B, or 66.89% of the total cryptocurrency market cap. At its highest, Bitcoin's market cap was $241.2B.

Bitcoin had traded in a range of $7,754.1 to $8,022.3 in the previous twenty-four hours.

Over the past seven days, Bitcoin has seen a rise in value, as it gained 10.45%. The volume of Bitcoin traded in the twenty-four hours to time of writing was $26.7B or 30.95% of the total volume of all cryptocurrencies. It has traded in a range of $6,884.0640 to $8,022.3423 in the past 7 days.

At its current price, Bitcoin is still down 59.63% from its all-time high of $19,870.62 set on December 17, 2017.
