Bitcoin Climbs Above 7,006.8 Level, Up 9%

Bitcoin rose above the $7,006.8 threshold on Saturday. Bitcoin was trading at 7,006.8 by 17:57 (21:57 GMT) on the Index, up 8.94% on the day. It was the largest one-day percentage gain since May 11.

The move upwards pushed Bitcoin's market cap up to $123.6B, or 57.84% of the total cryptocurrency market cap. At its highest, Bitcoin's market cap was $241.2B.

Bitcoin had traded in a range of $6,386.5 to $7,006.8 in the previous twenty-four hours.

Over the past seven days, Bitcoin has seen a rise in value, as it gained 21.31%. The volume of Bitcoin traded in the twenty-four hours to time of writing was $26.1B or 31.12% of the total volume of all cryptocurrencies. It has traded in a range of $5,630.5322 to $7,006.7852 in the past 7 days.

At its current price, Bitcoin is still down 64.74% from its all-time high of $19,870.62 set on December 17, 2017.

XRP was trading at $0.32487 on the Index, a gain of 7.89%.

Ethereum's market cap was last at $20.9B or 9.77% of the total cryptocurrency market cap, while XRP's market cap totaled $13.7B or 6.40% of the total cryptocurrency market value.
