Chipmaker AMD reported second-quarter earnings that matched analysts' expectations on Tuesday and revenue that topped forecasts, but revenue guidance was disappointing.
The company reported earnings per share of $0.08 on revenue of $1.53 billion. Analysts polled by forecast EPS of $0.08 on revenue of $1.52 billion.
That compared to EPS of $0.14 on revenue of $1.76 billion in the same period a year earlier. The company had reported EPS of $0.06 on revenue of $1.27 billion in the previous quarter
Looking ahead the company guided third-quarter revenue of $1.75 billion to $1.85 billion. That's below the S&P Capital IQ consensus forecast of $1.94 billion.
AMD shares lost 3.14% in after-hours trade following the report.
